Academy 7 by Anne Osterlund

This was quite an addictive story...
Set in a futuristic sci-fi future, in which space is thread just like any other shifts are as common as cars are in our days, and education is considered fulcral in the development of humankind future (someone should give this book to the portuguese education minister...).

There's a lot of messages in this book, notwithstanding the power of education, and friendship. Do not think however, that this is preachy or boring. It's NOT!! Its fluidity and complex dynamics had me completely engaged in it.

In fact this "academy 7" concept left me with the feeling that this could be the dream of many teachers....well, at least the ones that care...

A place that thrives in creating leaders. People with ideas and ideals...

Although set in a distant future, i felt like i could relate to the characters...they had problems and situations to conquer and deal it, just like the rest of us.

The main characters, Dane and Aerin were complex intelligent characters, whose growth one follows throughout the book. I loved that. They're not ya stereotypical teenagers.

There's a budding romance in the story, but do not expect it to take over the book. If some may dislike this aspect, i found it realistic and appropriate considering what the characters had gone through in the past. In this, there's no romance to disguise the lack of plot!!

So yes, i'm happy i read it :)
My only question is......:
For when a sequel????? lol

Oh, and this could have been my first Anne Osterlund book, but it definitely won't be my last!!
