Crave The Night (Midnight Breed #12) by Lara Adrian

Arc provided by Random House Publishing Group through Edelweiss

Disclosure time: This used to be one of my favourite series back in the day, when I used to love reading paranormal romance.

Unfortunately lately I've become a little tired of the characters and plots' predictability. Truth is, we more or less know what is going to happen by the end of this type of story. And there's nothing wrong with that: I have numerous bookshelves filled with such books to prove it!
It is just that some books we love, others not so much...
You may even say that it's a case of: It's not you, book. It's me.

I'm afraid that I still haven't become captivated by this new Breed generation.
So far I'm finding them boring. All these guys _minus some different colouring _could be clones of one another...
I can't help but remember that while I was reading Chase's book the plot seemed to be taking a more urban fantasy orientation. Which I loved!
Unfortunately with these last two books (in this new series) things have returned to the "normal" paranormal romance... path.

For me, I have to say that since the book leans so heavily on the romantic component, I am afraid but I didn't find the relationship between Nathan and Jordana very exciting.
She kisses him, the guy gets obsessed with her...
She becomes obsessed with him.
 .yada..yada..yada
....
LOVE!

The mystery was okay, I guess. Towards the end, with mentions of Queen Selene and Endymion, and missing crystals, I couldn't help thinking about:

SAILOR MOON!

Which probably wasn't the intended idea... but have I told you guys HOW MUCH I LOVE Sailor Moon??

Then there was the whole Atlantean thing *sigh* that made me think about Acheron and all the other Sherrilyn Kenyon characters... o_O
At least Acheron has Simi!!
Simi, barbecue sauce and demon hoofs  ;)

The whole abused/tortured hero is also quite overdone in our time and age, along with the mate and "mine" thing.

So I am sorry to say this, but not all that remarkable, I'm afraid.
On the other hand it made me want to read some of the previous books! Like Dante and Tess's book! :)
That's a good thing, right?
